September Adventures at Funtastic: Here’s What You Missed

September at Funtastic was one for the books! From start to finish, the month was filled with football-themed crafts, laughter, and the kind of hands-on fun that makes memories last long after the glue dries. With the fall season kicking off and football games filling the weekends, we wanted to bring that same team spirit into our activities. Whether your family joined us for one event or came back week after week, there was something special for everyone.

If you didn’t make it to Funtastic in September, don’t worry—we’ve got the full recap right here. Let’s take a look back at all the action and creativity that made the month so much fun.

September 2 – Football Windsock Craft

We kicked off the month with a Football Windsock Craft—simple, playful, and perfectly on theme for the season. Kids designed windsocks that echoed the shape and look of a football, then finished them off so they were ready to hang at home as a festive decoration.

This project focused on decorating and assembling a take-home windsock. The result: a lightweight piece that moves in the breeze and brings a touch of game-day spirit to porches, bedrooms, and play spaces.

September 3 – Finger Paint Football Craft

The next morning leaned into hands-on art with a Finger Paint Football Craft. Little artists used finger painting techniques to create a football-themed piece they could proudly carry out the door.

The emphasis here was simple: dip, dab, and design. Each child finished with a one-of-a-kind football craft made entirely by hand—an easy win for creative play.

September 9 – Mini Football Goal Craft

Mid-month, kids built mini football goals sized just right for small hands and big imaginations. The activity centered on crafting the uprights and crossbar and then putting the finishing touches on a display-ready piece.

Once assembled, the mini goal made a fun prop for pretend play and a cheerful nod to football season. It’s the kind of project that looks great on a shelf and invites a little make-believe, too.

September 10 – Handprint Football Goal Craft

This session put a personal twist on the theme: kids used their handprints as the starting point for a football goal design. After stamping their print, they customized the artwork so the finished piece reflected their own style.

Handprint crafts are a favorite for a reason—they capture a moment in time. This one fit the season perfectly and gave families an easy piece to display at home.

September 16 – Lace Up Football Craft

Ready! Set! CRAFT! Kiddos got to lace up their very own footballs in this hands-on session. Using pre-punched templates, yarn, and lots of energy, they threaded through the “laces” to finish off their projects.

The best part was watching how each football turned out just a little different. Some were neat and tidy, others colorful and bold, but every single one was game day ready. It was the perfect way to bring the season to life through creativity.

September 17 – Sensory Bottle Craft

This craft quickly became a favorite because it was fun to make and fun to keep. Kids created sensory bottles filled with colorful items that shimmered and swirled when shaken. The result was a calming, engaging tool they could enjoy long after craft time ended.

Parents loved the practicality of this project—it doubled as a toy and a soothing tool. For kids, it was pure magic to watch their bottles sparkle and move, making it one of the most talked-about crafts of the month.

September 23 – Magnet Painting Craft

Here’s a craft that was sure to stick around! Kids painted and decorated their very own magnets, giving them a chance to bring creativity right to the fridge at home. From bold designs to colorful patterns, each magnet was unique.

This project had lasting impact because the magnets became part of everyday family life. Whether holding up artwork, photos, or notes, they turned into a practical keepsake that parents and kids could both enjoy.

September 24 – Foam Finger Craft

We wrapped up the month with a spirited Foam Finger Craft. Kids designed and decorated foam fingers to cheer on their favorite teams. With bold colors, markers, and stickers, each foam finger shouted, “We’re #1!”

This craft was especially fun for sports fans, tying perfectly into football season. Families loved how it gave kids a way to show their team spirit, and the oversized fingers made for great photo ops too.
